“The Governor has a keen eye in promoting the province as an investment hub,” Special Assistant to the Governor (SAG) Von Mark Mendoza said during the conduct of Board of Investments-Investments Assistance Service BOI-Lokal held at the Provincial Training and Development Center I (PTDC I), Lingayen.
The two day activity slated on August 17-18 is anchored on the theme: “Linangin ang Obligasyon at Kakayahan Tungo sa Aktibo at Lokal na Pamumunuhan.”
Special Assistant to the Governor (SAG) Von Mark Mendoza, who represented the Governor reiterated that Investment is among the flagship program of the Governor and that they are currently in the process of strengthening the investment office to become a working arm or partner of the BOI.
Citing the initiatives of the Governor towards strengthening the position of Pangasinan as investment program include the creation of a dedicated office to assist would-be investors in Pangasinan, building a PangasinanLink Expressway (PLEX) and an airport.
In this light, Mendoza said that the activity being conducted today is not just a very significant supplement towards that dream and program because it is a capacity building of all LGUs.
Dubbed as Capacity Building on Investment Promotion for Local Government Units and IP-TWG Members, the undertaking was spearheaded by the Board of Investment (BOI), the Department of Trade and Industry and, the Provincial Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office headed by Atty. Raymundo B. Bautista Jr.
In his welcome remarks, Bautista said that the undertaking aimed to provide capability or knowledge on how to promote our province, towns or cities to make it investment friendly.
Said forum is integral to boost economy considering that the present administration’s main thrust is to create greater opportunities in the province of Pangasinan particularly investment promotion to spur economic development.
The forum/discussion was focused on the Philippine Board of Investments and One-Stop Action Center for Strategic Investments (OSAC-SI); Updates on Government Policies for Investments; Investment Priority Areas among other.
