Hon. Ramon V. Guico III

Biography

Governor Ramon “Mon-Mon” Velicaria Guico III, determined, dynamic leader now the Governor of the Province of Pangasinan.

He was generally trained, disciplined, and oriented toward public duty. He was born and raised in Binalonan, Pangasinan. His mother is a teacher, and his father, former Mayor Ramon Guico Jr., is currently a congressman of the 5th district.

Governor Ramon “Mon-Mon” Guico III is gifted with a loving and supportive wife Maan Tuazon Guico and they have four (4) children Ezekiel, Ethaniel, Eliana and Eliza.

After completing his Secondary Education at the Ateneo de Manila University, he pursued his degree in Philosophy and graduated from the University of the Philippines Diliman. He earned his Doctorate in Public Management from the Ramon Magsaysay School of Government after completing his master’s degree in Education with a Major in Educational Administration at the University of the Philippines Diliman. He continued to further his education because he believed that knowledge had the power to advance his career in the future. He pursued and completed his Master of Science in Aeronautics at the Pamantasan ng Maynila before completing his Major in Aerospace Education Technology Embry at Riddle Aeronautical University in Singapore.

Raised by a public servant, Mon-Mon found his passion in public service on his humble beginnings.

He served as Vice Mayor of Binalonan, Pangasinan, from 2007 to 2010, then became a mayor from 2010 to 2019. He bravely challenged a well-known politician for the fifth District and won as representative from 2019 to 2022. He then served as Chairman of the Special Committee on the North Luzon Growth Quadrangle.

More than P5 billion worth of infrastructure projects, including new bypass and diversion roads, barangay roads, bridges, flood control structures, covered courts and social halls, multi-purpose and school buildings, irrigation repairs and canals, were all completed during his tenure as chairman.

Employment opportunity opened its door for 10,000 job opportunities because of the first ever economic zone created in Eastern Pangasinan under his watch.

More than 6,000 students at the University of Eastern Pangasinan, a school owned and run by LGU Binalonan, benefited from scholarship grants under CHED-UNIFAST, demonstrating his continued belief that education is a crucial instrument in fostering national development.

Over 80,000 of received financial support, food, medical care, transportation, and funeral assistance through the Social Services Program throughout his tenure as the 5th District Representative.

As member of the 18th Congress, he authored House Bill 126, then sit as Vice – Chairman on Committee on Transportation.

Determined and dedicated to serve his fellow Pangasinense, he pursued the gubernatorial race last election. For him, change must come, and he believed that everyone should have a better life and equal access to opportunities. Most importantly, Pangasinense should be served with love, passion and compassion.
