APPLIFT “Ang Galing” Project: A Reading Program for Learning and Growth, Raising Proficient and Responsive Readers in Pangasinan

A project of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan in collaboration with the Association of Pangasinan Public Librarians and OMF Literature Inc.

The PGP purchased books to be distributed to the Provincial, City, and Municipal Libraries of Pangasinan. The project will be launched on July 4, 2023, wherein the Honorable Governor Ramon V. Guico III will be the Guest of Honor and Speaker, and the First Lady of the Province Ms. Maan Tuazon-Guico will render a storytelling activity for the children.

Community Outreach Services at Burgos National High School

A convergence community outreach program with the different offices of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan. Held at the Burgos National High School, Burgos Pangasinan last June 27, 2023, with almost 757 students from grades 10 to 12.

The offices that participated were: the Provincial Health Office (Metal Health Awareness), Provincial Employment Services Office (Career Guidance), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (Practical and Theoretical Disaster and Risk Reduction Management), Provincial Agriculture Office (Seedlings Production and Tree Planting Activity), Sports Development Office (Character Development of an Athlete), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (Inclusive Safety Space and Feeding Program), and JCI Lingayen Liberation (On Becoming a Leader).

The Provincial Library shared its knowledge of Library Orientation (The Importance of a Library) and had a Reading Comprehension Workshop for students.

The Mayor of Burgos sent his representative who read his message, likewise, the Vice Mayor gave a short message too. The PSWDO had a feeding program for the students.

The Provincial Library Celebrates its 99th Year Founding Anniversary

Every June of the year, the Pangasinan Provincial Library celebrates its founding anniversary.

This year marks its 99th year of existence. The Library celebrated it with various activities and a soft kick-off for its 100th-year celebration next year. Activities conducted were: Pangasinaniana Book Exhibit, In-house Children’s Activities, and Community Outreach Program.
