Gov. Guico groundbreaks 15th Provincial Gov’t Hospital located in Alcala town

LINGAYEN, PANGASINAN—Gov. Ramon V. Guico III on Monday led officials in the groundbreaking of the province’s 15th provincial hospital in Alcala town.

Exactly three weeks after the provincial board approved a resolution which authorized the governor to sign a deed of donation to accept a 4,000-square meter lot in Barangay Poblacion East in Alcala, now the province could start the construction of a state of the art hospital that will service the towns of Alcala, Sto. Tomas and Bautista.

The resolution authored by. Board Member Nicholi Jan Louie Sison state that the “Municipality of Alcala, Pangasinan, represented by Mayor Jojo B. Callejo, purchased an unsegregated portion of 4,000 square meters from the 32,629 square meters parcel of land owned by the Roman Catholic Bishop of Urdaneta, Inc…”

The parcel of land is registered under the name of the Municipality of Alcala and represented by Mayor Callejo.

The Alcala Community Hospital has an initial funding of P200 million.

It can be recalled that Gov. Guico, has negotiated last year for the lot donation in favor of Alcala.

Meanwhile, the province had earlier pushed for the accreditation of Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) located in Bolingit, San Carlos City, to become a tertiary hospital.

Training programs in Ob-Gyne and Pediatric are also complete while internal medicine and surgery are underway.

The modernization of all government hospitals is one of the main goals of the Guico administration to provide the poor and sick Pangasinenses with the best free healthcare they need. (Ruby F. Rayat)
