Vision

By 2031, Pangasinan has sustained productivity with diversified agri-business activities coupled with dynamic, innovative and resilient market driven economy.

Mission

The Provincial Agriculture Office shall:

1. Serve as the lead agency of the ProvincialGovernment in the implementation of programs and projects that are responsive to the need ofthe farmers and fisherfolk in increasing the agricultural productivity and income;

2. Facilitate the development of market support and linkage and help develop farmers, fisherfolk and women as entrepreneurs;

3. Develop, organize/revitalize farmers and fisherfolk groups to improve their capability on production and credit and marketing access;

4. Develop alternative livelihood projects/all along the value chain as one way of alleviating poverty;

5. Enhance, protect and conserve upland/lowland resources for sustainable production and management.

Mandate

The Provincial Agriculture Office shall:

1. Formulate measures for approval of the SP and support to the Governor to ensure delivery of basic services and facilities as provided under section of the local Government code of 1991.

2. Implement plans and projects upon the approval ofGovernor as provided under the Local Government Code 1991 that have t odo with agricultural development.

3. In addition, the Provincial Agriculturist shall:

a) Ensurethat maximum assistance andaccess to resources inthe production, processing and marketing of agricultural and aquacultural and marine products are extended to farmers, fisherfolk, and local entrepreneurs;

b) Conduct location-specific agricultural researches and appropriate technologies arising out of and disseminating information on basic research on crops, preventive and control of plant diseases and pests, and other agriculturalmatters which will maximizeproductivity.

c) Assist the Governor in the establishment a n d extension services o f demonstrationfarms or aquaculture and marineproducts;

4. Be in the front-line in the delivery of basic agricultural services, particularly those needed for the survival of the inhabitants during and in the aftermath of man-made and natural disasters;

5. Recommend to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and advise theGovernor on all other matters related to agriculture and aquaculture which will improve the livelihood and living conditions ofthe inhabitants; and;

6. Exercise such other powers and perform such other duties and functions as may be prescribed by law or ordinance
