📣 Calling all ART ENTHUSIASTS! 🎨


Contest Guidelines:

1. The Boat Painting Contest is a component activity of Pista’y Dayat 2019 that will be held on April 13, 2019 (Saturday), 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, at the Capitol Beachfront, Capitol Compound, Lingayen, Pangasinan.

2. This boat painting contest is open to all Pangasinan artists and art enthusiasts of all ages.

3.The contest shall revolve on the theme: “Dayat Mi, Bilay tan Aro Mi.”

4.There will be twenty (20) boat-replicas for the contest. Each boat-replica will be allotted to the participants who will be working together as a team. One boat-replica per team.

5.Each team shall be composed of 3 – 5 members. A photocopy of one (1) valid ID of each team member shall be required.

6.Participants can pre-register their team at the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) before the contest. An on-site registration will also be put up on the contest day, from 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM, if the contest slots have not yet been completely filled up.

7.Pre-registration and Registration shall be on FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis, until all contest slots (20 slots) shall have been completed. Once all contest slots are filled up the registration will be closed.

8.The contest shall begin at 8:00 AM, and the Judging shall commence by 3:00 PM.

9.The following materials shall be subsidized/ provided by the committee during the contest:

a.Latex paints (2liters each of the following colors: red, yellow, blue, black, and white)
b.Paint brushes (1 piece each of the following brush sizes; 4”, 2”, and 1”)
c.Water and water containers

10.Contestant/ participants can also bring additional paints and other art materials/tools like paint brushes, spatula, measuring tools, strings, straight edge, electronic visual/ tracing guides, etc. to enhance or facilitate their artworks. Likewise, contestants may add other elements that will add to the beauty of their respective boats.

11.AM and PM snacks will be provided for all participants.

12.Participants are advised to wear protective clothing from the sun or sun block lotion since the contest will be done outdoors.

13.The following are the criteria for judging:

Cultural context -25%
Relevance to the Theme – 25%
Visual elements & Originality -30%
Over-all Impression – 20%
14. Prizes:
Champion – P25,000.00
1st Runner-up – P15,000.00
2nd Runner-up -P10,000.00
Consolation – P2,500.00

15.All participants shall be given a certificate of participation.

16.Winners will be declared and awarded on the day of the contest at the contest venue.

17.Judges’ decision shall be final and irrevocable.
