LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—The provincial government under the stewardship of Governor Amado I. Espino III received a Silver Award on the 1st National Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Award last December 28 at the Tent City, Manila Hotel.

Ably represented by SK Federation President Jerome Vic Espino, Gov. Espino vowed to continue and heighten all programs and projects on anti-illegal drugs campaign.

As disclosed by Edda Joie Lubrin, DILG- LGOO II, the award came after the local government unit of Pangasinan successfully passed different indicators to include the activities, innovations, fund allocations pertaining to anti-drug program of the province.

LGU-Pangasinan, she said, was noted as “highly functional” after thorough assessment.

The audit criteria for the selection of awardees are organized local ADAC, implementation of ADAC plans and programs, fund allocation, support to ADAC in component LGUs, and conduct of quarterly meetings.

Aside from Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Espino, the award was received by Provincial Administrator Nimrod S. Camba, PNP Provincial Director Wilson Lopez and DILG Provincial Director Agnes De Leon from DILG Undersecretary Martin Diño.

It can be recalled that in his State of the Province Address last July, Gov. Espino reported that Pangasinan is the leading province in Region 1 with regards to drug clearing operations.

One remarkable achievement of the Espino administration is likewise attributed to the opening of the Pangasinan Reformation Center (PRC) in Barangay San Vicente in Burgos town.

Over the past months, the PHP12.9-million multi-purpose facility has been home to numerous batches of drug reformers, persons with disabilities and out-of-school youths that participated in various training and personality development programs in the past months, he said.
