LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—The provincial government has acquired anew eight service vehicles which include one mobile skills truck to be utilized for tourism and investment-related activities.

During the blessing of the said vehicles on December 17 at the Motorpool compound located at the Capitol complex, Governor Amado I. Espino III was joined by various heads of offices led by Provincial Administrator Nimrod S. Camba.

Aside from the mobile skills truck, the other seven service vehicles which amounted to over P17.6 million include two Hi Ace passenger vans, one water truck, one garbage compactor, and three mini vibratory rollers.
According to General Services Officer Evan Gladish P. Domalanta, the two passenger vans were purchased using the Performance Challenge Fund for 2017 which was derived from the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Seal of Good Governance (SGLG) award.
Domalanta disclosed that the service vehicles will be used to facilitate faster and more effective delivery of public service to the public.

Provincial Engineer Antonietta Delos Santos, on the other hand, said that all the vehicles will greatly benefit the provincial government in carrying out its tasks on various fields of endeavors that will redound to the benefit of the people.

It can be recalled that Gov. Espino launched in September last year the Mobile Skills Training project, the first-of-its-kind project in the region.

As of this date, the provincial government has three mobile skills trucks which were intended to intensify manpower development and ensure availability of skilled workers who are prepared to be hired locally and abroad.
Last August, the provincial government has purchased six provincial buses, one dredging machine, two service vehicles and one ambulance.

Blessing of the vehicles was officiated by Rev. Fr. Hernan Caronongan. (Ruby R. Bernardino / Photos by Bob Sison)
