LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – “Artistahing Pulis” of Pangasinan Police Provincial Office won in the friendship game vs. FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano cast held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) on April 28.

 

Led by Governor Amado I. Espino, III, team PNP showed that they are not  just armed in providing security, but, also in sports. Gov. Pogi served as the point guard in the first quarter ensuring the play with his effective bounce pass.

 

With equally-strong players PO2 Emiliano B. De Guzman and PO1 Marold F. Cabrera, team PNP dominated the first quarter with 4-point lead against the celebrities, 32-28.

 

Turning the game into a fun-filled but action-packed, ‘darling of the crowd’ Gene Padilla created amusement through his defense with a touch of humor as he led his team to break the lead of team PNP.
Philippine Basketball Association – Meralco Bolts player Nino “KG” Canaleta led the team Probinsyano proving that they came to win by rallying his teammates to set the first deadlock, 39-39 with 7 minutes and 4 seconds left in the second quarter.

 

However, team PNP secured their lead, 60-58, against their opponents with PO1 DR Piol (18) and PO1 Cabrera (23) powering up the offense at the end of the second quarter.
The road to victory didn’t come easy for the team PNP as team Probinsyano intensified their play with Marc Acueza and Michael Roy driving the ball in the third quarter, but then again, PO2 Natalio G. Rosario, Jr. and PO2 Emiliano B. De Guzman, Jr. maintained the momentum of their team garnering 5-point lead, 80-75, at the end of the third quarter.

 

Team PNP ended the game with a 3-point lead to crush their opponents’ drive to win, 109-106.

 

Also present to cheer up the PNP team were: Pangasinan First Lady Karina P. Espino with Amado P. Espino, IV and Pangasinan PPO Provincial Director PSSupt. Ronald O. Lee.
The friendly match is a fund-raising activity of the PNP to fund the PNP Daycare Center and to benefit drug reformists of Bahay Pagbabago.
